Obituary of Estella Willis

            Estella Willis, 89, of Hopewell Twp. died on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the Cumberland Manor in Hopewell Twp. following an extended illness.

            Born in St. Augustine, FL to the late John Dennis Lewis and Ruth Jones Lewis, she was the wife of the late Edward Cross, Sr. and the late David Willis. In the late 1940's, Estella moved from Suffolk, VA to the Bridgeton area where she lived for most of her life.

            Estella had been a homemaker and a member of Sabbath Day Church in Newfield. She was also a former member of Union Baptist Temple in Bridgeton and greatly enjoyed attending church.

            She is survived by a son, Edward Cross, Jr. (Mildred) of Millville; a sister Carolyn Matthews of Fairfield Twp. a brother, Aaron Lewis of Philadelphia, PA; 22 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by; two husbands, Edward Cross, Sr. and David Willis; a son, John Dennis Lewis-Cross and five brothers, JD Lewis, Cecil Lewis, Alfred “Beau” Lewis, Clifford Lewis and Alphonso Lewis.

            Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Friday, May 19th at 1 PM. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 12 Noon to 1 PM prior to the services.
