David G. Nichols (Dave), 90 years old, of Deerfield became one of God’s angels on Thursday February 9th, 2017 at Inspira Hospital (Elmer). David was born and lived out his life in Deerfield to the late David & Viola Nichols and was the husband to his loving wife of 69 years, Alma Nichols (nee Waller). Prior to his retirement he was a proud member of the New Jersey National Guard. After his service, he worked as an electrician at Owens Illinois in Bridgeton till its closing. He then worked at Chrysler in DE. before retiring. In his free time he enjoyed working on lawn mowers, cutting grass, and was an avid gadget creator. He found joy in watching his grandchildren’s sporting competitions, meeting up with buddies at the local coffee shop (Red Barn Deli) and laughing along with the South Jersey Deviler. In addition to his wife, Alma, Dave is survived by his two children Mark Nichols (Debbie) of Pittsgrove Twp., and Louise Motil (Chuck) of Hopewell Twp. ; Six grandchildren; granddaughters Danielle Bell (David) of Jacksonville, Fl., AshLeigh Krutzsch (Chris) of Hopewell Twp., Britney Motil of Blackwood & Kiersten Wood (Justin) of Monroeville and grandsons Gary Bell (Shelby) of Jacksonville, Fl. & Justin Nichols of Pittsgrove Twp. Along with seven great- grandchildren. He was predeceased by son David Nichols, and daughter Deborah Bell. As per his wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to South Jersey Healthcare Foundation.
