Elsie K. Kenney, 92, of Newport died on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at her home. Born in Bridgeton to the late Elmer Hickman and Mabel Lupton Hickman, she was the wife of the late Albert H. Kenney. Elsie was a resident of Newport all of her life. Prior to her retirement, she had been a bus driver for her husband at Kenney Bus Service in Newport. She had also worked for the Fairton Public School System in the cafeteria and Owens-Illinois Glass Co. in Bridgeton. Elsie was a member of Newport Baptist Church and also the Order of the Eastern Star for over 60 years. She is survived by four children, Elmer R. Kenney of Newport, Judy Riley of Newport, Naomi Zellers of Millville and Elmira Marcucci of Newport; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Elmira Eppler and Naomi Force. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 160 Main Street, Cedarville on Wednesday, February 8th at 2 PM. Friends will be received from 1 to 2 PM prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Newport Baptist Cemetery.
