Dorothy J. Ritchie, 89, of Salem passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at her home. Born Dorothy Jane Jones in Alloway Twp. to the late William Jones and Sarah Cheeseman Jones, she was the wife of the late Willis Ritchie. Dorothy had lived in Salem since 1982 and prior to that she had resided in Hancock’s Bridge and Penns Grove. Prior to her retirement, Dorothy had worked as a self-employed housekeeper for many years. She had attended Bethany Grace Church in Bridgeton. She is survived by four daughters, Jeanie Piscitelli of Lancaster, PA, Sarah J. Brown of Vineland, Helen Hemple of Salem and Mary Brozanski of DE; five sons, Willis Ritchie of Salem, William Ritchie of Pedricktown, Thomas Ritchie of Carneys Point, Joseph Ritchie of Penns Grove and Wilson Ritchie of Salem; a sister, Helen Whildin of Fairfield Twp.; 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Thursday, December 29th at 12 Noon. Interment will take place at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 11 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services.
