Obituary of Dolores P. Hemsley

Dolores P. Hemsley, 85, of Upper Deerfield Township died Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Golden Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Salem. The daughter of the late George Kernan and Ethelyn Dolson Kernan, she was the wife of the late Thomas L. Hemsley, Jr. She had been an Upper Deerfield Township resident since 2002 and had lived in Elmer prior to that. Before her retirement, Dolores had been employed with the Dietary Department at Elmer Hospital for 20 years. She deeply loved her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are her daughter, Patricia Simpson (Bruce) of Hopewell Twp.; five sons, Thomas Hemsley, III (Patricia) of Pittsgrove, Robert Hemsley (Doris) of Elmer, Layton Hemsley (Debbie) of Upper Pittsgrove, David Hemsley (Mary) of Elmer and Alan Hemsley (Denise) of Woodstown; a sister, Beverly Holbert of Monroeville; two brothers, George Kernan, Jr. of Bridgeton and William Kernan of VA, 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERALHOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Wednesday, December 28th at 11 AM. Friends will be received from 10 to 11 AM prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Elmer.
