Obituary of Errol "Chappy" "Buzz" B. Gayle

Errol B. “Chappy” “Buzz” Gayle, 69, of Fairfield Twp. died on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at his home surrounded by family and friends following a brief illness. Born in Kingston, Jamaica to the late Colonel Gayle and Daphne King Gayle, he was the husband of Sheila Jackson Gayle. In 1978, Errol immigrated to the Bridgeton area where he lived for the rest of his life. Prior to his retirement, Errol had worked as a Forklift Operator at Clement Pappas in Seabrook for 23 years. He had been previously employed at Consolo Produce in Vineland as an equipment operator for a few years. He had attended Crusaders for Christ Church in Bridgeton. In his free time, he enjoyed flower gardening and landscaping and was known to be very “picky” about his yard. Errol was a people person. Besides his wife, Sheila, Errol is survived by; four daughters, Stephanne Smith and her fiance, Sheldon White of Bridgeton, Simone Gayle of Jamaica, Opal Gayle-Shakespeare and her husband Robert of Bridgeton, Violet Gayle-Plummer and her husband, Oneal of Bridgeton and Chachala Lawrence and her husband, Christopher of Millville; two sons, Eldin Dwight Gayle of Bridgeton and Lincoln Gayle and his wife, Leeshawn of Sicklerville; three brothers, Glenford Gayle of Jamaica, Donald Gayle of Jamaica and Winston Gayle of Vineland; three sisters, Elmina Shorts of England, Marva Gayle of Bridgeton and Sonya Gayle of Bridgeton; 19 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and a host of other family members. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Brian and Ramona and a brother, Fitzroy Gayle. Funeral services will be held at Crusaders for Christ Church, 33 Reeves Rd., Bridgeton on Saturday, October 29th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Fordville Memorial Park in Fairfield Twp.
