Estella Jacobs, age 84, of Bridgeton died Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the Cumberland Manor following an extended illness. Born in Attapulgus, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Henry Smith, Sr. and Lula Mae James Smith and was the wife of William Jacobs, Sr. She had been a Bridgeton resident since 1943. Prior to her retirement, she had worked as a sewing machine operator for Marks Manufacturing in Bridgeton for 20 years. She also worked for DYFS as a foster parent helping many children in need. She was a member of the Hopewell Church of God where she took part in evangelical ministry. She spent her time helping people and serving the church. She is survived by; her husband, William Jacobs, Sr. of Bridgeton; six daughters, Betty Stafford of Bridgeton, Brenda Stafford of Millville, Linda Jacobs of Delaware, Sharon Jacobs and Coreen Jacobs both of Vineland, and Doreen Jacobs of Ohio; four sons, Willie Stafford of Bridgeton, Jermere Jacobs and William Jacobs, Jr. both of Georgia and Victor Jacobs of Vineland; six sisters, Lois Hunter of Vineland, Gladys Lewis of California, Mary Wise and Dale Smith both of Bridgeton, Beulah Hickman of Salem and Francis Smith of Bridgeton; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by; a son, Henry Stafford; a brother, Henry Smith Jr.; two sisters, Willa Mae Harris and Pearl Smith; and a granddaughter, Stella Ann Fowler. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 16, 2012 at Union Baptist Temple, 30 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, at 11 AM. Friends will be received at the church from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services. Interment will take place at Fordville Memorial Park in Fairfield Township following the services. Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Township.
