Obituary of Mary Anna DeBellis

On the evening of May 11, 2016, Mary Anna DeBellis passed away peacefully while being comforted by her family at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden after battling complications due to influenza at age 70. Mary was born in Bridgeton on July 3, 1945, the youngest of nine children to the late Nicholas Colaneri and Anna Denofio Colaneri. She had been a resident of Upper Deerfield Twp. for the past ten years and prior to that had lived in Pennsville and Woodbury. A devoted mother and wife, Mary was a homemaker and an excellent cook. She lived simply and loved her family abundantly and unconditionally. She enjoyed music of all genres, dancing and was talented at writing poetry. She had a poem published in the International Library of Poetry in 2006. An avid sports fan, she enjoyed watching quarterbacks Payton and Eli Manning as well as the Phillies. A member of the Parish of the Holy Cross, Mary had an unwavering faith in God and has been a member of the Catholic Church all of her life. Surviving are her husband of 50 years, George DeBellis; her daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Craig Filippone with grandchildren Payton, 18 and Austin, 15 as well as her son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Michelle DeBellis with granddaughter, Ally Sullivan, 14 and her two brothers, Nick and John. She was predeceased by brothers Leonard, Anthony, Mike, Alfonso and Dominick as well as her sister, Filamenia. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at the Parish of the Holy Cross-Immaculate Conception Church, 312 North Pearl Street, Bridgeton on Wednesday, May 18th at 11 AM. Friends will be received at the church from 10 to 11 AM prior to the services. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in Mary’s memory be made to the Lourdes Health Foundation, 1600 Haddon Ave., Camden, NJ 08103.
