Biography

Samuel Salvatore "Butch" Miletta, age 82, of Bridgeton died Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at South Jersey Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
Born in Bridgeton on May 5, 1930 he was a lifetime resident and the son of the late James Miletta and Lucy Valella Miletta and the husband of the late Myrtle Shaffer Miletta.
Before his retirement, he had been employed with the Minot Foods Company and the P.J. Ritter Company both of Bridgeton all his working life. An avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Butch had been very active in community sports programs with the Bridgeton Midget Football League for many years and also with the Bridgeton Sports Hall of Fame. Along with other family members, he was also active in the G.I. Deer Club of Hammonton.
Surviving are two sons, Samuel Salvatore Miletta, Jr. and his wife Kim Hemple-Miletta of Upper Deerfield Township and Edward C. Miletta and his wife Christine of Bridgeton; a sister, Mary Buirch of Cedarville, his close friend, Nicole Blair of Vineland, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Robert Wayne Miletta and four brothers, Vito J. Marlette, Frank "Chick" Miletta, Tony A. Marlette and Dominick
"Yodel" Miletta.
Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Wednesday, May 23rd at 10 AM. Burial will take place at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
